Performance Zero: 535.50

I was eighteen when my dad left. With my mother having lost her job and my siblings too young to help financially, I took the mantle of provider in my household. I took up a job and worked my ass off in order to be able to keep my family afloat. My entire environment changed around me. I could no longer avoid the realities of life, nor pretend I could be a child anymore with childhood's preoccupations and worries.

535.50 is the amount of money we needed to have in order to pay for our maintenance and subsequently not be evicted.

This was filmed in front of my family.

The Materials I used included swords I made out of plastic, tape, and wood. Symbols of adulthood made for children. I also used blue gift-filling paper, a chair, and wooden sticks. The Mat I am sitting on is an assemblage of different video-game and film advertisements and products, made with paper and packaging tape.

The Environment I chose is my house. It is fitting for it to be the setting I performed my piece due to it having been a place that was affected by the events that inspired this piece's conception.

Response to John Cage

Many of the things we do are fabricated, they are rehearsed, they are practiced and we believe that’s their innate nature. Within the behest of the many things that I understood, what can you tell is real and what is all in our minds?
Even with an intended purpose, living gives chance and opportunity to randomness. What do you hear?

03 Dimension- The Line

Line is the constructed space between two points in space delineating a sector into two. Combination or Separation are human made constructs. We exert lines in order to give order to an other-wise ephemeral and disjointed world. Line in one dimension is a dot. Line in two dimensions is a shape. Line in three dimensions is a form.
All three spatial dimensions and one temporal exist within the same manifold.
(Minkowski Spacetime Diagram)|
This is how I see line. This is how I see you.

02 Hatching

Hatching of the egg. She was brave, came out
unscathed.
Well, ok my thumbs were hating me at the end of this.

02 Process of Wood

The element of the wood. The element of the trees, warped to portray the will of fire inside of an artists’s soul. Chalice Immortal, emergent, Chalice birth.
Or Something like that ? – Anyways here’s proof I didn’t get this at Ikea.

01 Board of Cards

Through the emphasis of line, repetition, shape and lots and lots of cardboard, wood glue, vodka, and cuts- one makes the small, much, much bigger.

Warped into Shape

Here We Go- Into the Nether and out of the Ether into materialization or some other conceptualized version of this= Welcome to the Warped World = Let’s get bent together.
